Barn house designs are not a new concept at Yankee Barn Homes. However, clients and the YBH Design Team’s ability to come up with unique barn house plans bears repeating. By way of example, we present Jackpot Farms.
Traditional Barn House Meets Contemporary Design
Beginning with its name, Jackpot Farms has a story to tell. The family has lived in a number of places. Their most recent home has been Las Vegas, NV. Their new home’s name signifies their good fortune from their work-related life (Jackpot) and their return to the husband’s boyhood hometown (Farms). Located in the rural Northeast, the family’s barn house will mimic a traditional barn style exterior with an open, contemporary interior.
The main level is the epitome of open concept living. Open flow space occupies a majority of the first floor. Furniture will define the room, not walls. The media room, mudroom, office and laundry room are the exceptions. The post and beam frame works as the primary support structure and visual architectural feature for both levels of the home. While this design is technically considered a partial post and beam plan, three-quarters of this barn house design uses a timber frame.
The second level is family space. The master suite is extensive and includes a large walk-in closet, spacious master bedroom and private bath. Two more bedrooms, each with private bath, completes the upper floor.
The barn house lower level will feature a forth bedroom, an exercise room, a billiards room, a media room, a large area housing a bar and ping-pong table, and a utility room with storage. WOW!
Jackpot Farms is currently under construction. We recently received several construction pictures and will post an update soon.
